Vaccine Hesitancy

Vaccine hesitancy has been a major problem around the world. It has changed the political games in many countries. Countries like France coerced people to take vaccines, Indonesia used a lottery, the US used cash rewards, Taiwan and China used in-kind rewards to entice people to take the vaccine. In this episode, Dr. Haque and Philip Shaw discussed the state of vaccine hesitancy in the world and how to deal with it.

The Fall of Afghanistan

On August 30, a day before the ‘Taliban red line’ US Army withdrew from Kabul after many dramas. Over a period of 20 years of occupation, they killed nearly 100,000 Afghans and injured nearly a million, and made 40 million homeless people.

Two University Friends – Philip Shaw and Dr. A.K. Enamul Haque have been debating global issues among them every month since 1993. It was part of their strategy to learn from each other because they grew up in a different socio-political environment – one in Canada and one in Bangladesh. We agreed to make this debate public through this podcast and videocast.

Our primary objective is to inform societies across the world that despite we live far apart, our issues are similar and that sometimes we address them differently because of differences in our society and culture and sometimes it is similar. This is our human society. Let us respect each other.
