The Asian Center for Development in collaboration with the Center for Urban Studies and Sustainable Development has agreed to develop a methodology for prioritizing rural road networks in Jashore, Jhenaidah, Chuadanga and Magura districts.  The study is sponsored by the World Bank in order to develop a method so that rural road networks can be prioritize using secondary data, nightlight information and a value chain analysis.

The assignment is designed to develop and apply a spatial and analytical approach to prioritize packages of (i) rural roads (zila, upazila, and union roads), (ii) growth centers/rural markets, and (iii) complementary logistics infrastructure close to farms in four of the nine districts of the program. These four districts are Jashore [formerly spelled as Jessore], Jhenaidah, Meherpur, and Chuadanga. The prioritization is intended to maximize the development impact of the proposed program corridor.
